COSMETIC DENTISTRY

Smile Design-Cosmetics

We can design a smile that is perfect for just you.  It is amazingly easy to preview a smile that will help you look and feel better about yourself.

The first thing people notice about you is your smile. A survey of adults in the U.S. found:

  1. Over 92% agree that an attractive smile is an important social asset.
  2. 88% say they always remember someone with an especially attractive smile.
  3. 74% agree that an unattractive smile can hurt a person’s chances for career success.
  4. Only 50% were satisfied with their smile.

And unlike plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry is not a major operation. Imagine coming in for a few appointments and emerging with the smile you have always wanted.  The results are immediate and dramatic.  Thanks to enhanced computer design, we can provide a cosmetic look that is just for you. Even the subtlest difference in tooth size, shape, texture, and color can be part of your overall look. We consider your gender, lifestyle, ethnicity, so your smile reflects who you are.

Seeing is believing. You can preview the changes, then feel the excitement of watching your new smile take shape right before your eyes.  One of the ways Dr. Donnelly can achieve your new smile is through Porcelain Veneers.

Veneers are a thin, semi-translucent laminant permanently bonded to your teeth. While they are not suitable for every patient, veneers are the most aesthetic alternative for a variety of dental conditions involving the front teeth, including:

  • Diastemas (spaces between teeth).
  • Broken or chipped teeth.
  • Unsightly, stained or washed out fillings.
  • Permanently stained or discolored teeth that cannot be bleached.
  • Crooked teeth.

Advantages and Benefits of Veneers
There are many benefits and advantages to having porcelain veneers placed on your front teeth:

  • The procedure can take only two appointments.
  • A conservative amount of tooth structure is removed during the procedure.
  • Veneers are the most biocompatible material you can use next to the gingiva (part of the gum tissue that immediately surrounds the teeth and alveolar bone).
  • A healthy, "natural" look is achieved; in fact, porcelain veneers are the most aesthetic restoration in dentistry.

Because veneers are stronger than simple bonding, they are also more resistant to stains and chipping. You must maintain regular oral hygiene at home, and visit us for routine cleanings and exams.
